2017 will be an important year in the global fight against vision care and vision loss in the Coachella Valley. The World Health Organization’s (WHO) Action Plan provides oppurtunities for stakeholders to collaborate on programs working towards prevention of avoidable blindness and visual impairment in our cities, counties and across the world.

As we work on our Action Plan “ iCare & Eye Health Initiative 2017” lets promote, collaborate, and partner with each other to help in the fight for sight. Lets promote healthy living and healthy life styles in the Coachella Valley.

We will lace up our running shoes and pledge to create awareness in giving sight using Adaptive Technology, Education and Action. Lets eliminate the fears attached to blindness and visual impairment.

  • Awareness of iCARE and Eye Health: this will educate and advocate vision health in a form of a “Relay in the Dark”. This will be a fun event that will need many team players and volunteers.
  • Adaptive Technology: A resource fair that will bring in software engineers to conduct workshops on education and science in the market place.
  • Town hall meeting that will address environmental barriers for the disabled community. Establish communication and dialog with the disabled community.
